This site basically serves as my "getaway" from the real world. I write about my thoughts and opinions based upon my professional experience and personal opinions. I also like to share new ideas and solutions to different problems I encounter, whether it be about technolody or life. When it comes to the technology side, more specifically web dev/design, I grew tired of solving an issue and then losing the solution, only to come across it again at a later date. This site is my answer to that problem as I try and post those solutions/workarounds here.
If you find something I say interesting, feel free to share it, comment on it, or subscribe to my feed (on the front page) to keep current. Or if you find an interesting article on something "tech" e-mail me and I'll happily share my thoughts with you.
Currently I'm a web developer for Fifth Third Bank, part-time freelancer, and full-time husband (but not in that order). After 6 years of service in the United States Air Force I figured it was time to test "corporate America". I'm currently doing the 9-5 thing just like the rest of you (or at least most of you).
My wife and I reside in Covington, Kentucky, where we recently purchased a home. Getting away from apartment life was a necessity for both of us. Besides, our dog, Gage finally has a backyard and gets to run around for no other reason than the fact that he can.
Apart from family and friends, technology is my lifeblood. I think it, live it, breathe it. In fact, you will rarely find me more than 15 feet from a keyboard, whether the traditional type or the touchscreen one on my iPhone. I got my first computer around the age of 11 and some would say it's been "all down hill from there". However, it probably all started when traveling the Oregon Trail, making stops at Chimney Rock, Ft. Hall, losing some oxen and catching the measles, all in the second grade! (For those of you who do not understand what I'm talking about; see the wiki.)
Hopefully I have given you a bit more insight to who I am, what I do, and how I do it. I'll do my best to keep this site and this section in particular, updated. If there's something I didn't cover that you want to know...JUST ASK!
This site is running on the Drupal 6.x content management system (CMS). It is extremely powerful, customizable and flexible and fits my needs perfectly. If you're interested in how I have accomplished something on this site, contact me and I'll let you know.
