Dell E-Family and Centrino 2

Well, I just sold my HP m9040n desktop PC and I am in the market for a laptop. My problem is this: I don't know if I should hold out for Dell to manufacture a Centrino 2. I primarily use my quad-core Inspiron 530 for work and play but am in the need of a laptop for some social events. Not to mention it would be nice to have for some of my upcoming meetings with freelance clients.

Unfortunately for me, the decision-making process does not stop there. Dell is releasing a new line of laptops under the "E-Family" or "E-Series" line (special thanks to tboland for this info). Will these have Centrino 2? From what I can gather online, my hypothesis is that they will not. Many are saying that Dell will use the E-family line to buy them some time while it produces a Centrino 2 line. Although, it would be great if the E-family offered the Centrino 2 chip as an option because the E-family is expected to launch on August 5th, which isn't too far off.

Now the question is, what should I do...buy now? wait for the E-family line? or wait for the Centrino 2 if the E-family doesn't offer it?

Lets just hope the Dell E-family line launches on August 5th, as this is speculation also. If it does at least my options will be a bit more clear at that point.

EDIT: Another option might be to wait for the E-family to launch and then pick up one of their current models for a discount...NAH! I need to stay somewhat up-to-date.

UPDATE 08/05/08: The latest information I've gathered suggests the E-Family line will be released on August 12th.
