On the heels of the "Let's Rock" iPod event, it seems there are rumors pertaining to the announcement of new MacBook's coming. I've read this on a few different sites but have also been told by a friend of a friend, who is currently an intern at Apple. While I'm not sure I am totally sold on the validity of this information, it does make sense. The MacBook and MacBook Pro are overdue for update.

With the recent introduction and success of Netbook devices, it will be interesting to see if the success of the MacBook continues as it did with its initial launch. It has gained quite a bit in marketshare but with a down economy, may have a hard time matching it's predecessors success.

On a side note, there are also rumblings of the price dropping. The MacBook would be introduced at $999 while the MacBook Pro would start at $1799.
